My Meow Meow Tweet Review
I've been meaning to do this review for a long time. I found Meow Meow Tweet several years ago, back when I was looking for a safe deodorant that did not have baking soda in it. My old standby wasn't working anymore, so I researched what my (slim number of) options were that didn't have toxins. I found an article that rated the top 10 best safe deodorants for that year. Meow Meow Tweet had one on the list with magnesium hydroxide as the active ingredient, so I ordered a sample size and I was hooked.
I decided to try several other products of theirs, since their ingredients looked very clean and they had great sample sizes available. That's one of the surest ways to get me to try something -- make it easy for me to get an idea of the product without having to commit to a full size!
I paid full price for all of these products and am not affiliated with the company, so this is my 100% objective real-customer review.
Baking Soda Free Deodorant: I tried both the grapefruit and the lavender scents. This is an effective product that I've ordered many times since first trying it. I like the grapefruit best, although that is really just based on personal preference for scent, because they both work equally well. I have used the glass jar in the past, and now they have a stick option available. This is a great option for those who do not use baking soda, either due to the irritation it can cause, or for those like me for whom it just doesn't always work to combat body odor.
Face Exfoliant: This is a product that I always think I can skip, until I realize that my face is dry and itchy, and really just needs a good exfoliation on a weekly basis! Exfoliators that come as creams usually have a bunch of ingredients I don't want to use. That's why I love this dry option. Just add water and you are good to go. Since it's dry, there is no need for preservatives or other scary stuff to keep a creamy consistency going. This exfoliator has a very short, simple ingredient list that works well to remove dry skin. I love this!
Lemon Rose Cleansing Oil: The company used to market this as a makeup remover, and it still definitely works for that. I appreciate, however, that they are calling it a cleansing oil now, since that's a more general term. I often used it instead of cleanser, especially when I wanted skin that was super-moisturized after cleansing. It was actually the only thing that worked to remove a bunch of gray stage makeup from my entire face after doing a modern dance production. If it works for that, it will surely work for most folks' everyday skin cleansing routine! The lemony smell was also particularly appealing to me.
Face Cleanser: Even though I'm not big on cleansers due to how they can dry my face out, I liked this one. It wasn't very sudsy -- which is a good sign! It was more of a thin, milky consistency, yet still left my face feeling clean. I will say that the scent was pretty strong, and not necessarily my favorite. Again though, that's just my personal preference, and everyone has their own favorites when it comes to scents.
Face Toner: Super-simple ingredients, feels great on the face. They've hit the perfect blend and amount of each ingredient, because apple cider vinegar can give off a very strong smell all by itself. Not so with this product! It's light and not overpowering at all.
Face Oil: I absolutely love face oils. I am starting to prefer them over lotions and creams. This one smells great, goes on smoothly, and leaves my skin feeling extremely soft. It's not too heavy or greasy.
All in all Meow Meow Tweet gets a big thumbs-up from me. An extra bonus that I especially love is their glass containers! I've saved all of the deodorant containers because they make great bulk spice holders.
